    Job Summary:
    Position serves to facilitate and participate in functional activities through all phases of the business system development life cycle, to include requirements gathering and analysis, system design and development, testing, and implementation. Position may demand the incumbent to act as project manager, when appropriate, for the technical and/or overall aspects of systems implementation.

    Qualifications:
    1. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience. 2. Minimum 3 years experience in AS/400 system administration 3. 2 years minimum supervisory experience 4. Proficiency w/desktop tools (MS Office Suite, MS Project) 5. Knowledge of RPG, CL programming and AS/400 query 6. Proven database administration skills 7.     Business Development Manager – Oil & Energy Market

    Job Summary:
    Fairfield Manufacturing Company, North America’s largest independent manufacturer of gears and drive systems is seeking experienced sales professionals to be responsible for selling and promoting our complete line of gearing, gearboxes and drive solutions to existing OEM customers and prospects in the global Oil and Energy Market. Only candidates with a proven track record of sales growth and profitable business development with custom engineered or technical products in the oil and energy markets will be considered.

    Qualifications:
    1. Minimum of 5 years direct sales experience selling custom engineered products and technical solutions in the oil and energy related markets. Prefer experience with hydraulic fluid power, gearing or drive system solutions. 2. BS Degree in Sales, Marketing or related experience with similar technical products, Engineering Degree preferred. 3. Highly self motivated and results oriented individual. 4. Demonstrated account, territory and project management skills with the ability to collaborate, direct and lead others in a team environment. 5. Some international travel is required to direct and support activity outside of the Gulf State Region. 6.     Area Manager

    Job Summary:
    1. Monitors quality, safety and productivity within assigned areas and makes improvements or enhancements as necessary. 2. Provides all subordinates with constant communication, guidance, coaching and support necessary to perform their jobs effectively and accurately. 3. Works with the Safety Manager to monitor safety compliance and to review and plan for special requirements on incoming jobs. 4. Uses progressive discipline to correct and manage major violations of company policies and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (e.g., fighting, sabotage, etc.). 5. Investigates incidences of, and initiates corrective actions to, improper conduct on the floor or major violations of company policies or the CBA. 6. Work closely with peers including R & D, Manufacturing Engineering, and Project Managers on new product introductions, automation, and process improvements. 7. Accountable for factory housekeeping and organization by driving 5S deployment within the department 8. Accountable for improving and maintaining visual management within the department 9. Responsible for communicating metrics and ensuring understanding and ownership at the production team level 10. Responsible for driving continuous improvement in labor efficiency, cost, quality, and factory processes 11. Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency and materials supply 12. Assure the proper training and of all department personnel

    Qualifications:
    1. Bachelor of Science degree in Logistics, Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience that relates to the position. 2. Minimum 5 years of management experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment. 3. Previous experience in the metals industry experience is preferred. 4. Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communications skills. 5. Must be available to work flexible hours and weekends. 6. Experience in a multi-shift operation with emphasis in a union environment is strongly desired. 7. Must possess and demonstrate strong leadership qualities and is a motivator of people. 8. Must work well under pressure and possess above average problem solving skills. 9. Must possess and demonstrate above average mathematical and analytical skills. 10.     Program Manager

    Job Summary:
    Manage, oversee, and coordinate all aspects of major program development in accordance with contractual requirements and in concurrence with company goals and objectives, including the Fairfield New Product Development Process. This position interfaces with all functional areas and groups within the company including Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and other departments and persons involved in the successful execution of specific major programs. Utilization of the Fairfield Project Management Process in all phases of the program management function is required. In addition to the interface requirements within the company, the Program Manager may also be expected to maintain ongoing communication and interaction with the customer, including weekly conference calls, progress reports (both verbal and written), as well as periodic visits to the customer location for progress meetings and related discussions. In addition, the Program Manager will be expected to provide regular program / project updates to the senior management team covering status of the program, key initiatives underway, major issues and risks, as well as recommendations.

    Qualifications:
    • Undergraduate degree in a technical field. Significant work and technical experience may be substituted for a portion of the formal educational training required, (i.e., Associates degree and 10+ years of directly related experience in gear / power train industrial engineering, quality, engineering design, or similar area). • PC proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite, including thorough understanding and proficiency in MS Power Point and MS EXCEL. Prefer experience with Microsoft Project Management software, or related project management program software. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing specifications, routings, and related documents. AS400 Business system / VAX experience and capability strongly recommended. • Ability and willingness to learn, understand, and implement the Fairfield Project Management Process (FPMP) to all relative commercial programs. • Excellent communications, presentation, and team building skills are required. The Program Manager will be required to give periodic program status updates to the executive management team as well as the customer. Other Specific Skills and Capabilities Needed: • Ability to lead cross – functional project management teams in support of the program or project. • Meeting facilitation / facilitator skills or training is a plus. • Experience in program or project management in an automotive oriented environment or a Tier 1, 2 or 3 supplier category is desirable. • Experience in six sigma / learn manufacturing methods and principles is a plus • This position will require occasional travel both domestic and international in support of the specific programs and projects.

    Heat Treat Supervisor

    Job Summary:
    The Heat Treat supervisor is responsible for the supervision and coordination activities of workers while engaging in the heat-treating processes, properties and structure of metals. Responsible for conducting metallurgical analyses on metal samples and machine tools along with estimating, requisitioning and inspecting metals. 1. Schedule product through the Heat Treat department to meet production goals. 2. Schedule and assign hourly workforce to support production goals. 3. Recommend staff levels to maintain and improve department throughput. 4. Maintain discipline by applying company work rules in a fair and equitable manner. 5. Identify and coach promising employees for future advancement. 6. Maintain quality by working with operators, engineering, metallurgy, etc. to trouble shoot production problems. 7. Improve department flexibility by advancing employee cross training. 8. Ensure operators have the tools needed to succeed at their jobs, such as alloy fixtures, handling fixtures, work baskets and supplies, etc. 9. Ensure a safe, clean work environment by applying and maintaining 5S methods.

    Qualifications:
    1. Experiences in heat treat operations and machining. 2. A minimum of three years supervision experience. 3. Knowledge of metal fabrication is desired. 4. Proficient at reading blueprints. 5. Able to understand basic mathematical computations including time & temperature charts and number expressed in fractions and decimals. 6. Familiar with quality systems and concepts of Lean Mfg. such as (Lean Mfg. Principles, Six Sigma, QS9000 or ISO).

    Drafter - Intern

    Job Summary:
    Nature & Scope: This position creates drawings and assemblies for new and existing components and products using computerized aided drafting (CAD) tools such as SolidWorks and Pro-Engineer relating to machining and gear manufacturing processes. Primary Responsibilities: 1.Use Cad-Cam system to draw manufacturing prints of parts that are going through the new part process. 2.Apply customer standards to the manufacturing print. 3.Incorporate machine shop practices into drawing specifications 4.Make routine engineering computations, prepare specifications, and make adjustments in drawings or specifications accordingly. 5.Assist with drawing tools and fixtures. 6.Assist with creating tool cards.

    Qualifications:
    Knowledge/Skills Requirements: 1.Knowledge in Microsoft Office, IBM 400 system, Vax system would be helpful. 2.Blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing. 3.Some experience with a 3D or a 2D CAD program.
